Great World MRT: Exits and Everyday Connections

Great World MRT is a key transport reference for people researching River Opus. The most useful question is which station entrance and onward route work for your destination. A short rail journey can still involve a substantial walk at either end.

Where Great World sits on the line

LTA’s Thomson-East Coast Line information places Great World between Orchard and Havelock. Orchard offers a North-South Line interchange; Outram Park, beyond Havelock, connects with the East-West and North East lines. Great World itself is not an interchange.

For work, save the exact office entrance as the destination. Compare the full trip, including the walk between interchange platforms and the walk after leaving the train. Counting stations alone does not establish a reliable door-to-door travel time.

Which exit serves Great World mall?

The mall’s official directions list three useful approaches:

  • Exit 2 is nearer the office lobby.
  • Exit 3 links by an overhead bridge to Level 2 near Playland.
  • Exit 6 provides direct access to Basement 2.

These are directions to the mall, not a verified walking route from the future River Opus entrance. Choose the exit for the part of the mall you need. See our Great World shopping guide for planning groceries and other errands around a train journey.

Compare Great World with Havelock

The Havelock MRT guide covers the neighbouring station. Because both stations serve the same line, the deciding factors may be the approach on foot, road crossings or an errand on the way. A slightly longer walk to one entrance may be preferable if it avoids a difficult crossing for your household.

Test the route you would repeat

  1. Identify the confirmed residential entrance and a specific station exit.
  2. Walk the legal pedestrian route, including crossings and changes of level.
  3. Check the lift route if travelling with a stroller or mobility aid.
  4. Repeat the journey with a realistic work bag or shopping load.

Allow for construction arrangements around the Valley Point redevelopment. A present-day site visit cannot confirm the final access design. Use our River Valley Road guide to put the commute alongside the other journeys that matter to you.
